Cynthia (Cindy) Cichosz, CPP
Payroll Compliance Systems Supervisor

Cindy Cichosz (cee-kosh), CPP is currently a Payroll Consultant in the Greater Milwaukee Area in Wisconsin.  From Oct 2019 to Nov 2020 she was the Payroll Compliance Systems Supervisor at Veolia North America in Milwaukee, WI in charge of Payroll compliance and the Tax team.  Before that role at Veolia she was the Payroll Supervisor for Share Services Center.  Previous to this position Cindy was the Tax Manager for 2 years at iLIFE LLC a division of Centers for Independence and for 4 years the Assistant Payroll Manager Milwaukee Center for Independence in Milwaukee Wisconsin.  She has over 40 years of payroll experience dealing with a wide variety of payrolls.  She has consulted in the payroll field helping many Wisconsin companies with compliance issues and payroll.  She earned her designation as a Certified Payroll Professional in 1994 and has recertified five times by recertification hours (each time having over 200 recertification hours).  Cindy started the first Greater Milwaukee Chapter study group and upon receiving her certification she gave back to other payroll professionals by instructing the successful Greater Milwaukee Chapter’s CPP study group for over 15 years.

Cindy has been a dedicated member of the American Payroll Association since 1994.  She is currently an Ambassador of APA.  She served as a National Vice-President on the Board of Directors of APA from 2011 to 2015.  She is a Hotline and CHAMPS volunteer and serves on the GRTF – IRS Issues sub-committee and has written articles for APA publications. She currently serves on the Chapter Recognition Committee and has served on the APA Education Grant Committee.  She has also served on the APA's Presidents Board of Advisors - Region Four BOA and the Nominating & Elections committee.  She has also taught workshop sessions at APA Congress and is a Member of the APA’s National Speakers Bureau.  Cindy teaches Payroll Practice Essentials and Intermediate Payroll Concepts for APA.  Cindy is a proud member of the American Payroll Association's "Payroll Hall of Fame" for her 2002 Meritorious Service Award.  In 2004, she was awarded second place winner for the Donald W. Shaper Payroll Education Grant and in 2005 she won the Kronos Education Grant. 

She is a very active Executive Board Member and founding member of the award winning “2020 and 2015 Chapter of the Year” Greater Milwaukee Chapter of APA, in Southeast Wisconsin.  She has served three as its President, Vice-President and Past-President Advisor, chaired the 2005 Statewide Payroll Conference and worked on every conference Wisconsin committee since 1995 as the Vendor Chairperson.  Cindy has served on the NPW committee, Hospitality committee and CPP Study Group committee. She has been the Chairperson for over 20 years for the Pictorial and has served on the Chapter of the Year and Website committees for entries to National APA.  She has also been a speaker at the Wisconsin Statewide Conference and chapter meetings at the Greater Milwaukee Chapter of APA and all Chapters in the State of Wisconsin and many Nationwide. She is also a winner of the Greater Milwaukee Chapter Officer/Board Education Grant.  Cindy is also a member of Toastmasters International.   

Personally, Cindy lives in the county north of Milwaukee in Sheboygan County with her little dog Cutie and two outside cats Moo and Gray, that have adopted her and Cutie.  Last year she landscaped and planted a large garden with flowers to attach butterflies, which she loves.  She enjoys all kinds of crafts and has done wedding flowers for over 35 years.  With the help of her speaker training from APA she is an ordained minister and have performed marriages for a Great-nephew in Illinois and he Godson nephew in Upper Michigan.
